I really enjoyed the clarity of the message to be explicit when teaching students of how to prepare for the future with a good education.
How to prompt the students with higher order thinking questions or scenarios to engage them in their learning. I also believe that it is up to us to inform students of the different opportunities that are out there for them to better themselves.

Something that I want to highlight is the importance of create in the students the habit of using Critical Thinking Skill from the lower grades. This will help the students to investigate carefully and succeed in their studies.

Very informative, the fact that kids are not hoping to achieve a higher degree of learning because they fear of not looking cool is especially reverent with minority kids. They are also afraid to leave home when they graduate from high school where as other non-minority kids cant wait to leave, sadly kids less fortunate choose to say behind.

This was the most “REAL” course of them all. As an inner city child (Chicago) I found the information in this discussion long overdue.
