Andi McNair firmly believes that if what we’re teaching isn’t meaningful to our students, it’s a waste of our time and theirs. In this lesson, Ms. McNair explores what matters most to our students, why it matters to them, and how we can change the way we teach in order to ensure we reach them before it’s too late.

Presenter Bio

Andi McNair currently teaches Gifted and Talented students at a small rural school at Bosqueville ISD in Texas. She has been a teacher for over a decade, teaching 4th/5th grade math before moving into gifted education. As a parent of gifted children, she is a strong advocate for gifted education. She regularly speaks at TAGT (Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented) and other conferences, particularly sharing her passion for innovative education. Andi is married to her high school sweetheart. They have three children and live in Waco, TX.

    I enjoyed this course. I would have rather seen some of these websites in action in depth as part of a PBL than to have so many websites thrown at me at once. Also some of the teacher’s experiences seemed to do with primary school. I am naturally less interested in those. That being said, the information about ways to find Experts was invaluable.
