Iconic prompts of depth and complexity is a wonderful tool to get your students into incredibly deep content analysis, far beyond the basic “who, what, when, where, why” framework for understanding meaning. Presenter Bio

Dr. Paige McCord is an Adjunct Professor of Education at the USC Rossier School of Education and an Administrator for the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Conservatory of Fine Arts. She specializes in the field of gifted education, particularly curriculum and pedagogy appropriate for diverse advanced students.   McCord earned a M.S. in Educational Psychology and Instructional Technology and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Teacher Education from USC. As a graduate student, she conducted research with Dr. Sandra Kaplan on the Jacob K. Javits Models of Teaching Grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education.  McCord has served many different roles in the teacher preparation process including being a methods professor, a master teacher, and student-teacher supervision coordinator. She provides professional development to teachers across California in both the public and private sectors. McCord currently lives in Orange County.

    It was ok. It was helpful to go over the basics of what Depth and Complexity are, so if you are a novice on the topic it would be a good course. However if you already have a basic understanding of the concept, this will be a lot of review and a few basic examples of usage.
