Description

Twice exceptional students, gifted/talented students with learning disabilities, make up between 2-5% of the student population. Working with these students requires a special understanding of their unique cognitive processes. Join trainer Mary Ann Clark, one of the leading experts on twice exceptional education, and discover the strengths and struggles that accompany both giftedness, and each of the common learning disabilities.This course will teach you to:
  • Discern between twice-exceptional myths and facts
  • Support different cognitive styles

Presenter Bio

Mary Ann Clark currently serves as Instructional Specialist for Inclusive Education at Gadsden Independent School District in southern New Mexico. Before transferring to GISD in 2015, Ms. Clark was the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Accountability and the Executive Director of Core Content at El Paso Independent School District. She has served as Director of Advanced Academic Service at EPISD and held numerous teaching and administrative positions in the district since 1985. She has also served as chair of the Texas Association for the Gifted & Talented (TAGT) Gifted Plus Division and as member of the Texas Education Agency (TEA) Twice Exceptional Task Force.

    This course was excellent. The only issue is that it frequently refers to the handout for material that is not presented on screen. My handout was open in another tab. When you toggle to the other tab, the video pauses. You need to be able to look at the materials while listening to the presenter.
