This was good for understanding guided reading.

I think that this was a good course. The video stopped in the middle, but the notes allowed me to continue with it. I will say the beginning made it difficult to know what the course as about and I was almost turned off by the speaker as she seemed to be leaning to the GT kids are better than everyone view that I have seen in many GT trainings. I really liked the examples and explanations of the “Read to, Read with, and Read by.” I already do the Read to process she uses, so it was nice to see it in a training.

This is an excellent course that shows the big picture of what guided reading is all about. It also confirms that fluency plus comprehension together along with context clues and purpose for reading is the foundation of a guided reading session.
