Negative stereotypes are often associated with those raised in generational poverty. Of all these stereotypes, one of the most damaging in education today is that students from low-socioeconomic backgrounds are less likely to be gifted. Low verbal skills often mask true giftedness. It’s time to get past the stereotypes and begin uncovering giftedness in our low-SES students.

  4. Katina – River View Local Schools (verified owner)

I felt this course was interesting, just not quite what I thought it would be.

  5. Angela – GARFIELD RE-2 (verified owner)

What makes this a 5 start are the resources attached to the presentation. Birdie Chesanek used real examples from her class. The stopping to reflect or do an activity to use the information just presented helps with retaining the new learning and the quizes.

  6. Julie – GARFIELD RE-2 (verified owner)

This course gave very specific activities I can use tomorrow in my classroom. It also explained the reasoning behind why students can benefit from them. I also like how these activities can benefit all students, not just GT students.
