This session was not what I expected. I hoped to learn more about the skills and learning outcomes of the AP Language course and gain instructional strategies to teach these skills. Instead, the presenter provided an overview of the texts and themes of her course. The session was more of a lecture on the themes taught rather than the skills taught. There was little that helped me understand what is expected of students by the end of this course. I did not gain a wealth of strategies to apply to my own course if I were to design a syllabus for submission to the College Board.
