I really liked the focus on the children and how they learn. I thought his approach to this was really good. I especially liked how he focused more on the students than on test scores.

Very interesting! So many good ideas and eyeopening thoughts about how we should challenge our whole class, just gifted students.

This presenter uses racist, stereotyped information to describe poor people. He quotes Ruby Payne, who has been widely debunked and criticized in the anti-racist educational community. He makes sweeping generalizations about poor people. He uses white-centric stats and measures for how families should look if they want smart and healthy kids. There were so many things wrong with this. It was awful in those regards. Stop using old white guys for these trainings. Also, he trash talks middle school kids. I teach middle school! These GT trainings are also so centered on elementary. It’s ridiculous. Not everyone has recess and can play kickball and put on plays because we have 47 minute classes. This was so bad, but all these GT trainings are SO BAD.
