Description

Teaching any subject can be a difficult task, and teaching writing has its own set of unique challenges. There aren’t any formulas or diagrams for teaching writing to students, and getting students to write in a meaningful way can be a daunting task in and of itself. This is because good writing isn’t only about grammar but also knowing how to make your writing shine and how to think creatively.

In this course, Teaching Writing Is Hard, Until It Isn’t, experienced educator and published author Shannon Anderson gives tips and tricks for ways you can empower your students with new writing techniques and get them in the flow of writing. You’ll learn how to create an engaging prompt for your students to write about and how to create a plan for your students’ continued writing growth, among other things. Any educator, whether you enjoy writing or it’s your least favorite part of the day, will benefit from this in-depth course.

In this 1-hour course, participants will learn:

  • Why teaching writing can be difficult
  • A training plan that will help your students write meaningfully
  • What makes a great prompt
  • How to structure your writing block

This is an insightful course because it is true that universities normally don’t offer skills to become better writers.
