Hours: 1

Can you imagine driving a race car with only bicycle brakes to stop you? In this digital age, our students’ brains have been trained like race cars by the volume and speed of information that they have been processing since a very young age. But what happens when they must slow down and process information in a non-digital setting, like a classroom? In this course you will learn how to identify the effects of digital media on students and how to apply proven methods for adding depth and complexity to your AP and pre-AP classrooms.

Very interesting course. Clear definition, examples, strategies.

  4. Stacy – 588 Co-op (verified owner)

This was an effective course at providing provocative concepts and demonstrating useful classroom activities.

  5. Brian – UNITED ISD (verified owner)

Very interesting. Some good teaching strategies are presented.

  6. Lori – BURLESON ISD (verified owner)

Nothing new here. Statistics quoted were from 2012 and many of the ideas are common practice now. The presenter did not always articulate ideas well and jumped back and forth between topics and illustrations. There was a strategy presented at the end that was interesting.

  7. Guadalupe – UNITED ISD (verified owner)

really enjoyed learning about both hemispheres of the brain

  8. Analia – UNITED ISD (verified owner)

I really enjoyed this course because it targeted the issue of getting students to focus when their minds are not focused on learning because they are thinking about social media and games.

  9. Chad – VIDOR ISD (verified owner)

This was probably a good course a few years ago. It seems a bit dated now. Statistics and examples were stale.

  10. Ana – UNITED ISD (verified owner)

    Great strategies.
