Hours: 1

Can you imagine driving a race car with only bicycle brakes to stop you? In this digital age, our students’ brains have been trained like race cars by the volume and speed of information that they have been processing since a very young age. But what happens when they must slow down and process information in a non-digital setting, like a classroom? In this course you will learn how to identify the effects of digital media on students and how to apply proven methods for adding depth and complexity to your AP and pre-AP classrooms.

  5. Kirsten – BASTROP ISD (verified owner)

I learned two new strategies. Much of the first part of the course was over left/right brain differences and was mainly just a refresher.

  6. Elizabeth – BASTROP ISD (verified owner)

This course kept moving and did not have down time. It was very informative on understanding on the types of students that walks into the classroom and how to address their needs. The two activities were very informative to engage students and get them to talking to each other academically.

  7. Kathleen – DRIPPING SPRINGS ISD (verified owner)

I really liked the traveling talk and take a stand activity, however, would like to know how to make them applicable to a secondary math classroom.

  8. Alma – UNITED ISD (verified owner)

    Very interesting course to take!

  9. Allison – BASTROP ISD (verified owner)

There was quite a bit of good information, but at times it was hard to follow along in a virtual presentation. I think active participation in the strategies would be more beneficial.

  10. Alan – EANES ISD (verified owner)

I liked the specific lesson ideas to meet the needs of gifted students
