In this 2-hour course, participants will explore a variety of factors that facilitate differentiation, including the classroom environment, classroom procedures, grouping, and varied work.

Managing a differentiated classroom is a complex task, but it doesn’t have to be difficult! Join Kim Frasher, Math Gifted Specialist at Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools, and explore a variety of techniques to engage students in mathematical tasks that are appropriate for their independent level of readiness.

In this 2-hour course you will discover: 

  • Techniques to help you manage the complexities of a differentiated classroom
  • How to create differentiated math experiences for students
  • The importance of students’ physical environment, classroom procedures, and classroom routines

Presenter Bio

Kim Frasher is currently a Math Gifted Specialist at Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools, serves on
the Ohio Gifted Advisory Council, and is a member of Gifted Coordinators of Central Ohio. She
has been an educator for 28 years. As a gifted specialist for the last 16 years, Kim has been
devoted to working with the gifted math students, their families, and the teachers who serve
them. She believes that gifted students have the right to be placed in an educational setting
that is most appropriate for their abilities and passions. Finding the optimal challenge for
students fosters a love of learning that can propel students to open doors and reach
unimaginable heights. Kim holds a B.A. in elementary education with a reading endorsement
and a gifted endorsement and an M.S. in curriculum and instruction.
