In this 2-hour course teachers will learn:
- Why universal themes are important to higher-level thinking, as well as to depth and complexity and real-life experiences
- The differences between universal themes and other uses of themes
- How to analyze curricular development choices for depth and complexity when creating curriculum with cross-curricular connections
- How to formulate and apply ideas for universal-themed cross-curricular curriculum

Presenter Bio
Patty Clary is a retired classroom teacher, elementary school principal, and gifted intervention specialist. She started her own educational consulting business, Entrusted Teacher Consulting, so she could continue to share her passion and ideas about gifted education with others. Creating materials for gifted learners is also one of her loves. Patty also works with Cleveland State University as an instructor in the CSU Gifted Program. She finds it very rewarding to spend time with schools, administrators, and teachers to improve gifted services, curriculum and practices.
