Presenter Bio
Alesha Haybin is currently a Coordinator of Gifted Services at the Licking County Educational Service Center, and serves as the Scholarship Committee Chair on the OAGC Governing Board and is Past-President of Gifted Coordinators of Central Ohio (GCCO). She has been an educator for almost 20 years with 17 of those working directly with gifted students and their families. She has found the most profound impact can be made as a result of relationships that nurture the social and emotional development of each student while stretching them intellectually. Alesha holds a B.A. in elementary education and a M.S. in educational psychology and gifted instruction. Born and raised in Oregon, Alesha most enjoys going on adventures with her family and visiting the beautiful Northwest.

Great explanations and justifications behind teaching creative thinking in the classroom. I would love more examples of how to incorporate creative thinking tasks in content areas. It is hard for teachers to stray away from teaching content since there is so much stress and pressure on test scores.
