Presenter Bio
Alesha Haybin is currently a Coordinator of Gifted Services at the Licking County Educational Service Center, and serves as the Scholarship Committee Chair on the OAGC Governing Board and is Past-President of Gifted Coordinators of Central Ohio (GCCO). She has been an educator for almost 20 years with 17 of those working directly with gifted students and their families. She has found the most profound impact can be made as a result of relationships that nurture the social and emotional development of each student while stretching them intellectually. Alesha holds a B.A. in elementary education and a M.S. in educational psychology and gifted instruction. Born and raised in Oregon, Alesha most enjoys going on adventures with her family and visiting the beautiful Northwest.

This presentation was very helpful and insightful when working with kids who are capable but are not showing their actual abilities. Some of the things I especially liked are the way of looking at the brain as spaghetti, the quote of “en-courage” is to put courage into, and the job names for a group.
