Description
In “Using Projects to Maximize Capacity in Your Gifted Classroom,” Todd Stanley shows you how a well-designed project naturally differentiates for each student’s individual needs and progress. Somewhat helpful; although I would have a difficult time giving up as much control as this teacher indicated he gives up. I was troubled by the lack of explanation of progress checks along the way – in the example he gave of a student who produced an elaborate project that didn’t score well, shouldn’t there have been an opportunity along the way to communicate that to the student, so he could revise it, before the very end? It seems like formative assessments should be worked into this idea of project-based learning.
