Description

Do you know what the difference is between a cue and a prompt? Most educators think they do but make mistakes in the moment by offering cues when a student needs prompts, and vice versa. If you only have a vague idea of how the levels of prompting work, then this course is for you. Over-prompting a student can have long-term consequences, and every special education teacher and support staff person needs to know how to fade supports effectively.

In this 30-minute course, veteran SPED educator Ayo Jones breaks down prompting into seven easy-to-understand levels, a clear understanding of which is essential to making sure your students are not learning to be prompt dependent. It is a great way to make sure you and your team are not providing more support than a student needs. If you work with students who require a lot of additional cues and prompts, then this course will help you to help them become more independent.

In this course, you will learn:

  • The seven levels of prompting
  • How a cue and a prompt are different
  • How to document the levels of prompting
