Description

What’s the difference between 504s and IEPs?

When educators don’t have a strong understanding of the two, it can cause confusion and end up with students not getting the services they need in order to thrive academically.

In this course, 504s versus IEPs — Understanding Student Services, you’ll learn the difference between 504s and IEPs from celebrated SPED educator Ayo Jones.

One common myth about IEPs and 504s is that you have to be struggling in school to receive one. Ms Jones says that’s simply not the case. There are many reasons why a student might qualify for an IEP or 504, and educators need to be aware of these reasons. After taking this course, you’ll be prepared to explain the difference between 504s and IEPs and how students qualify.

In this course presented by Noodle Nook, you’ll learn:

  • What a 504 is
  • What an IEP is
  • Who qualifies for 504s and IEPs
  • What’s in the plan
  • Who creates the plan
  • How to review your plan
