Is your plate so full that you don’t have the time or energy to learn anything new? What if, instead of asking you to add one more thing to your plate, someone offered you an entirely new plate? In this lesson, Kim Tredick does just that. The “plate” she’s offering is the Depth and Complexity framework, an approach that helps students engage in self-questioning and evaluative thinking.

Thoroughly reinventing how we teach gifted kiddos! The AP Classroom is full of these type of learners and I believe the material delivered will only heighten curiosity and critical thinking skills for the 21st century.

Good refresher/extension on useful purpose using icons.

  3. Lisa – DRIPPING SPRINGS ISD (verified owner)

Great session! I have been using the D& C icons for years and really needed a fresh new perspective on how to use them in the classroom. I loved all the ideas – especially just teaching with them everyday for every lesson.

  4. Alfredo – UNITED ISD (verified owner)

Very good training! I am already doing some of the points mentioned in the training; I now need to insert the icons into the lessons, and let the students choose the icons they feel represent their thinking.

I liked the examples provided in this PD. I liked the way she walked through what things would look like to help me better understand the icons and how to use them.
