Presenter Bio
Kim Tredick is currently the Director of Student Support Services in Castaic School District in Southern California. She has served as lead curriculum writer for J Taylor Education over the past seven years and has been using Depth and Complexity for two decades as a teacher, principal, and district administrator. Kim is the author of the best-selling Differentiation Smart Reference Guide, which is used in over 30,000 classrooms. As one of the original participating educators during the first PD rollout of Depth and Complexity in the 1990s, Kim’s training provides teachers with practical best practices for using all the components of the D & C Framework.

This is great information, but I also feel that most teachers do this type of instruction naturally without worrying about the icons being present/introduced. However, I do agree that kids are very visual learners, and therefore, the icons would help them stay focused on the content and dig deeper to enhance their understanding.
