Description

No one can be a perfectionist because no one is perfect. And perfectionism is an occupational hazard of the gifted. Although giftedness and perfectionism often go hand-in-hand, perfectionism can have many “faces” and may look different in each individual. In this engaging and practical course, Lisa Van Gemert, M.Ed.T., explains how damaging perfectionism can be and how its strengths can be harnessed for good.

In this 1-hour course you will learn to:

  • Identify the five faces of perfectionism in gifted children
  • Build strategies to change perfectionism from unhealthy to healthy
  • Classify global failure from beneficial adversity
  • Utilize Barbara Clark’s model for overcoming failure

good course to solve the problem of perfectionism which can hinder the learning
    in GT students

  2. LaTonya – PROSPER ISD (verified owner)

A great course to understand the mindset of perfectionism not only in the classroom but for life outside of the classroom.

  3. miriam – UNITED ISD (verified owner)

It gave me a good background knowledge of the term perfection. I will be using what the presenter said. Not to say that the student is a perfectionist but to say that he/she has perfectionist tendencies. Perfection is non attainable.

  4. Erin – DRIPPING SPRINGS ISD (verified owner)

This course was very informative! It has a lot of useful information and really helped deepen my insight.

  5. Debra – SCHERTZ-CIBOLO-U CITY ISD (verified owner)

Good info, but could have been more concise in delivery.

  6. Mike – PROSPER ISD (verified owner)

This was a good course, but it was much longer than I had anticipated.

  7. Mike – PROSPER ISD (verified owner)

This was a good course, but it was much longer than I had anticipated.

  8. Hillaree – MIDWAY ISD – WOODWAY (verified owner)

It was a great course, but the presentation kept stopping throughout. I would have to push play over and over to make the presentation continue, which made the words choppy.

  9. Madison – CARROLLTON-FARMERS BRANCH ISD (verified owner)

Excellent course! I loved how engaging and informative it was! The instructor made some points that not only pulled on my heart strings, but encouraged me to do my best to help my students that may struggle with any form of perfectionism. If you’re a perfectionist (like me) this course may even give you insight into strategies to help yourself as well! All around very impressed.

  10. Hiroshima – UNITED ISD (verified owner)

    It is very interesting.
