Description
Differentiation in the classroom might be a little bit like riding a bike — you never forget how to do it, but you can also always learn a new trick or two! In this course, Diane Heacox, Ed.D., unpacks two important strategies: tiered assignments and flexible instructional grouping. If you are not using these two strategies correctly, you may not even be using differentiation.
In this 1-hour course, you will learn:
- The principles of tiered assignments and flexible grouping
- How to design tiered assignments
- How to determine student readiness
- Other methods of tiered assignments

I do like that she brought up Gardner, Bloom, Vygotsky, Piaget practices too. All practices are necessary for the ultimate learning environment. This course was a detailed look at differentiation and a multitude of examples for all grade levels. I also like how she took off the pressure of having tiers for every assignment.
