Description
Differentiation in the classroom might be a little bit like riding a bike — you never forget how to do it, but you can also always learn a new trick or two! In this course, Diane Heacox, Ed.D., unpacks two important strategies: tiered assignments and flexible instructional grouping. If you are not using these two strategies correctly, you may not even be using differentiation.
In this 1-hour course, you will learn:
- The principles of tiered assignments and flexible grouping
- How to design tiered assignments
- How to determine student readiness
- Other methods of tiered assignments

After so many years of teaching gifted ed, much of this was review for me. It’s hard to meet everyone’s needs as we all have different levels of experience/past trainings.

This was a very useful course. In the span of an hour, Dr. Heacox was able to provide the rationale and practical instruction for using tiered assignments. I think most teachers would be able to apply the strategy right away after this session.

Great information, but would like to see more secondary examples.
