The course was helpful to understand and differentiate between motivational and behavioral issues with students. As educators we must do learning meaningful and challenging, so students can emerge and find their talents.

This is course is very valuable to learn and gives insight as why some students are not motivated to learn. By showing the students that they matter and the teacher cares, they will hopefully see that and try their best to learn the material.

It was OK. Most of what was discussed wasn’t just about gifted students. It was really about all people. I would consider it common sense. The suggestions about what to do toward the end are nice, but not always possible because you can’t cater to every student’s different interests and abilities when you teach 130 kids a day. What one student is interested another isn’t so, you have to try to find things that large numbers of students are interested in to get them more engaged in the work. That way you will affect the most students.

I appreciated the span of interventions we can use to motivate GT students, and how they focus on certain factors that affect a student’s mindset.
