Description
An educator is trusted to behave responsibly by parents and the community as a whole, and when an educator breaks that trust, it can cause substantial damage and distract from the ultimate goal of teaching. Most educators want to behave ethically, but figuring out what it looks like to uphold ethical conduct in different situations can be difficult.
In this course presented by Responsive Learning, educators will learn about the definition and expectations of ethical conduct in the state of Texas. The course also includes several different scenarios to help you think through the real-world implications of how to display ethical behavior.
After taking this 30-minute course, Guide to the Texas Educators’ Code of Ethics, you’ll have a better understanding of:
- Appropriate boundaries for educators with their colleagues, students, and the community
- Ethical conduct on social media and digital communications
- Expectations for off-campus conduct
