Presenter Bio
Janet Newton has become a leading voice in the field of gifted in the state of Texas. She received her
Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her Master of Education degree
from Texas A&M University in Texarkana.
After starting her career as an art educator, Janet became a Gifted and Talented Specialist for Region 8
Education Service Center in Mount Pleasant, Texas and then for Region 13 Education Service Center in
Austin, Texas.
Janet was instrumental in developing the Advanced Academics program for Georgetown Independent
School District before enhancing GT Ignite across the country with Responsive Learning.
